Veronique Froment

Having cut her PR teeth at a leading UK-based technical PR consultancy, Véronique went on to become global PR lead at Avid Technology where for several years she managed the reputation of this icon of the media and entertainment technology industry. As a senior PR professional Véronique managed a number of PR agencies on both sides of the Atlantic over the years. Sadly, none ever provided what she was looking for: senior level support, true industry expertise and world-class copywriting skills. Identifying a true need in the market that was not provided by any of the larger agencies, Véronique decided to create her own specialist consultancy. A decade and some years later, she has managed the reputations of some of the biggest names in the industry and helped smaller organizations make a name for themselves, including Genetec, Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung), Panasonic i-PRO, Avid, Telestream, Pebble Beach Systems, iZotope, Facilis, Signiant and Softimage to name a few. Having lived and worked in France, the UK, Canada and the US, she's now growing roots in the state where her options are to “live free or die”.

Doug Hansel

Doug has over 30 years of experience in video and audio technology sector. He works with top tier companies in the Media & Entertainment industry such as Telestream, and the Video Security market, for companies like i-PRO. Before joining Highrez as a technology evangelist, Doug was senior product marketing manager for the professional video segment at Avid. From his beginning days working in the recording studio with the likes of Ringo Starr, Carl Perkins, Willie Nelson, Sting, and Dire Straights together with famous gear like the NED Synclavier, to being product designer for Avid’s Media Composer and Symphony software and Nitris hardware, he’s been fortunate to work and live in a lot of cool places such as London, Johannesburg and Boston. He now lives in rural New Hampshire with his French wife, their twin sons, multiple dogs, cats and chickens.

With Highrez, who you see is who you get. If you decide to make us a part of your extended team, you will be working directly with Veronique and Doug for North America, not a team of junior account execs whom you've never met before. If you require EMEA support, we work daily with partner agencies based in the UK, and for LATAM, Benedicte Fauveau based in Brazil. 

Moreover, unlike the traditional PR agencies who typically outsource to a copywriter any type of writing that is not a standard press release, we are really quite different: we don’t get baffled by technology and love to produce content that people want and need. We are firm believers that content led marketing is absolutely key in our industry.  Customers need educational, interesting, well written material that is devoid of corporate fluff and jargon; magazines are short staffed and love for manufacturers to produce quality content that they can easily repurpose for their readers. So when it comes to writing: we do it ourselves. This also means that we quickly become familiar enough with our clients' products and key technology trends to have meaningful conversations with journalists and identify coverage opportunities and angles that challenge readers' minds.

We follow a different business model to traditional marketing communications agencies – more like the business model practiced by doctors, architects and lawyers. Just like architects don't stop designing buildings, doctors don't stop treating patients, we have never stopped practicing PR and marketing.

"Timing is everything". We've all heard this said many times before, but when it comes to communicating with your publics, the timing of your message can often be the deciding factor between success and failure. 

For instance, it's almost impossible not to be pressured by the timing of major trade shows, and the tendency is for most manufacturers to wait for these major industry events to make significant announcements.  But trade shows are noisy, both literally and figuratively, and when you are competing for share of voice and attention with over  1,000 other manufacturers, it's really hard to rise above the noise.

We are located just outside of Boston, but for many years we have worked with like-minded consultancies to handle global campaigns for our clients. Many of our partner agencies are very similar to us in size and approach, and share our no nonsense philosophy. We also work with graphic designers, video production companies, and digital marketing experts, so that when the opportunity arises, we can quickly create a global virtual team that is designed to meet our clients' needs and resources. And because our prime motivator is not the growth of our own business, we don’t compete with other agencies, but prefer to 'play nice' with everyone.
